The Professional Ballet Programme is an eight-year study programme designed for students 8 to 16 years of age who are striving towards a career in the arts. The comprehensive curriculum includes Ballet, Creative Movement/Music courses, plus Pointe and Repertoire, Somatic work, Pilates, Yoga, National Dance, Character, Hip Hop, Jazz and Contemporary as they become appropriate. Special workshops with guest teachers, covering such as particular classical repertoire, body image and nutrition as well as attendance at a variety of dance productions supplement the classroom training. Along with the rigorous technical Ballet studies, we shine a light on the artistic elements of dance, art, music and the related theatre arts to ensure a broad understanding of the world the students are entering. We work to relate the dance heritage of the past to the contemporary world of today. Entrance to the Professional Ballet Programme is by audition only. Auditions take place in Ottawa in the spring of each year. Course runs from September to June with a Summer Intensive in July. Opportunity to perform in national theatres. Professional Development opportunities are available for teachers and dancers.  Please also see our page under Dance / Danse
