Entrance Requirements
OSSD with minimum of 60% advanced, 70% general or equivalent; or 70% Workplace or College or 60% University level courses including: Math, English, Chemistry, and Science or Biology; Additional equivalent secondary and post secondary horticultural training is also considered. Applicants must be capable of performing the physical duties normally expected of a gardener and hold a valid driver's licence. Applicants must also have at least two seasons of practical horticultural experience.

Starts the end of March and runs 3 full years with approximately 3 weeks off at Christmas and one week off at the end of July. Students must maintain a 65% yearly average.

Since the inception of the school in 1936, horticultural excellence has been the mandate of our 3 year diploma program. It is a blend of academic studies and practical training offered on site at The Niagara Parks Botanical Gardens…a one-of-a-kind horticultural educational opportunity. Students also qualify to register as a Horticultural Technician to receive Certification of Apprenticeship and industry certifications (CHT and CIT) in addition to their diploma. Upon completion graduates then qualify to write the Certification of Qualification exam.
