Six Nations Polytechnic is a unique postsecondary organization, recognized by community, government, and institutions of higher learning, as a Centre of Excellence for Indigenous Knowledge. Established in Canada’s most populous First Nation there is no other place where you can invest your time to acquire skills that lead to employment as well as learn about the history, culture and philosophy of Indigenous peoples of the region. SNP offers the only Bachelor of Arts in Ogwehoweh Languages (Mohawk or Cayuga) in North America and pivoted expediently to virtual learning in the wake of the pandemic. SNP has also been a part of the task force leading the effort to bring internet coverage to the entire community whereby, increasing collective capacity in online learning for all. Six Nations Polytechnic is ahead of the curve developing innovation in learning. This past year SNP launched pilots with our partner institutions that recognized the trend toward micro-credentials; preparing our students for a fast-changing workplace where micro-credentials can more efficiently determine skills and competencies for hiring.
