Entrance Requirements

Canadian citizenship; proficiency in English or French; Canadian high school diploma or equivalent; valid, Canadian driver’s license or equivalent; 19 at the time of engagement (can apply at 18).

Tuition Fees

The RCMP Academy is a designated post-secondary institution, but does not charge tuition fees. The RCMP covers the cost of training, travel to Depot, cadet uniforms, dormitory accommodation and meals.

Training Academy: Successful applicants are enrolled in the RCMP’s worldclass Cadet Training Program (CTP) at the RCMP Academy (Depot) in Regina, Saskatchewan. The CTP is a 24-week intensive course, which is academically and physically challenging. It combines studies in applied police sciences, law, human relations and telecommunications with training in physical fitness and conditioning, firearms, police defensive tactics, driving, and drill.
