The theory component of our program is designed to deliver a comprehensive understanding of equipment maintenance, heavy equipment system operations, and proper site management. We emphasize the importance of quality and safety in these areas. The practical component is focused on operation techniques and practices, and is conducted in an actual construction atmosphere. We integrate the theory with the practical training which provides the student with more hands-on experience. At Robar every student has a machine: no waiting for “your turn”. Also, we do not believe there is any benefit in “observation” training at least not in this discipline. Proper training is the key to not only the student’s success, but Robar’s too! This is a full time (8 hours per day) course and runs for 5 weeks. Student/instructor ratio to 6:1. Train on six pieces of equipment (excavator, loader, dozer, backhoe, compactor and skid steer) spending the majority of time on the four largest machines.
