The Optical Sciences Eyeglass Diploma Program and Advanced Practice Contact Lens Certificate Program are administered by the Opticians Association of Canada in partnership with the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology. The Eyeglass Diploma Program consists of four (4) semesters of study. The Contact Lens Program consists of two (2) semesters of study. Semesters are 3 ½ months in length. Each program is considered distance learning and consists of an online theoretical component, and a clinical practicum completed while working on-the-job in the optical field. The programs will provide the student with the theoretical and practical information necessary for a career as an Optician.
