The Nautical Institute is housed at the NSCC Strait Area Campus in Port Hawkesbury, Nova Scotia. It offers four year Engineering and Navigation cadet programs as well as a broad range of training to meet the needs of the commercial marine industry. MARINE DIPLOMA & ADVANCED DIPLOMA PROGRAMS Combine academic study and a work term at sea to become a marine engineer, navigator or ship’s cook. Programs range in length from 1 to 3 years.
